Gautama Buddha

Hello friends how are you today this is not a post related to technology because I start writing a post on ' GREAT LEADERS AND GREAT INDIANS....

So in this first post of Great Indians i tell you about Gautama Buddha so let start the post......

The great Gautama Buddha, founder of Buddhism was born more than two thousand five hundred years ago but till today his fame has not diminished and his religion is followed by crores of people around East Aisa. It will be enlightening to learn about his life and teaching.

Gautama Buddha was born in year 563 B.C at the place called Plumbing which lies at the foothills of Himalaya and is presently in Nepal. The date of birth was Vaishakhi poornima at the name of his mother was queen Mayadevi & father was king Shuddhodana. His mother died in his childhood only and his mother's sister Gautami cared for him since early age. He was also called by various names such as Shakyamuni, Gautama, Mayadevi Suta. Arkbuddha & Bodhisatva. In his childhood it was predicted by Royal astrologist that he will became either an empower or a great learned sage. The latter process true !

The little siddhartha was a very intelligent boy, given to seriousness & meditation. His farher shuddhodan took care to shield his from any contact with sorrow & suffering. When he became marriage age, siddhartha put condition to his father that the would be bride should be suitable by her virtues; she may be of any cast and station in life. He married a girl called Yashodhara;  soon a son was born who was named Rahul.

One day when Siddhrtha was moving around the capital In his chariot, he saw four spectacles. A man very old and suffering due to dissipation, a poor man bill from diseases, a funeral procession and the fourth was a sage who had attained wisdom and hence peace of mind. So he concluded that a man can rid of old age, diseases and fear of death if he observes penance and attains wisdom. At this time the young prince was not even thirty year old. But his decision was made, he told his wife accordingly and bade good-bye to all riches, pleasures, wife, son and his title to throne  and went away in search of unlimited good of humanity.

Siddhartha travelled far and wide; he observed very severy routine of life denying himself all pleaasures and necessaririties bug to no avail. At the last he come to Bodhigaya and sat under vatvrukha  वटवृक्ष for mediation. It was hear that Gautama attained ultimate wisdom. Thenceforth he came to be known as Gautama The Buddha. (The wise man) and the tree is permanently termed Bodhi-Vruksha. ( Tree of knowledge) His thoughts on life can be summarised as below .

Everything in this world is mortal , prishable .  A man thaught emotions, desires and earnings are the root cause of unhappiness. This can be over come if he wants freedom from them. And Nirwana stage can be achieved by struggle. Nirvana means a stage of eternal peace. Non violence is most important aspect of life . Gautama gives his first lecture under this very tree. The four truths are 1. Sorrow and suffering. 2. A culmination of sorrow. 3. Salvation of his sorrow. 4. Ways and means to attain the salvation . This is called Maddhyam Marg. ( The way of middle )

The middle 'road' is keeping clear of extreme pleasure seeking and extremity abstinence. Gautama Buddha started preaching this way of life which came to be known a s Buddhism. His frame spread far and wide and thousands became his disciples. He sHow a new way of life to Amrapali Dancer and Angulimal who was a robber. His philosophy and thinking was not of a transcendental nature and was very near to ordinary man's life and way of thinking. The basic problem of human life were importance to this new religion. A simple life away from voluptuous pleasures was importance. He propounded eradication from case system leading to equality of all followers of his religion. The spread of this religion is called Dharama Chakara pravartan   (धम्म चक्र प्रवर्तन)  His family members also adopted his new religion. ( This sence is very graphically depicted in Ajanta caves ) Nalanda became a seat of knowledge he came and lectured at a place. Later  Nandala became a seat of university. Anand was his cousin brother who also converted to buddhism.

At a ripe old age of 80, Gautama religion is the very human nature of his teaching. He eliminated god as agent between man and ultimate peace. One has to follow a certain code of conduct because it is morally and ethically correct and not because god will come and punish you if you don't behave.

All emcompassing piety and humanity is importance in his teaching.

If you do not pursue endless path of pleasures then you can attain peace of mind without the help of extremely influences and goldy agency. Tvat ddeep Bhava ! त्वद् दीप भव  Be your guide and light up your own path. This is his teaching to everyone.....
